SUPPORT WORK

Practical Support for Everyday Life

Sometimes the biggest difference comes from having someone by your side in daily life, someone who understands your needs, helps you navigate challenges, and encourages your independence. At Therapy Co, our support workers provide practical, person-centred assistance that helps you put strategies into action, build skills, and feel more confident in your community.

Our Approach

Support work at Therapy Co is guided by the same values that underpin all our services: compassion, collaboration, and a neurodiversity-affirming mindset. Our support workers are not psychologists, but they work in close partnership with our therapy team so the support you receive is consistent, purposeful, and aligned with your goals. We take the time to understand your preferences, interests, and strengths, so that support feels empowering and meaningful rather than prescriptive.

What Support Workers Can Help With?

Support workers can provide assistance in a wide variety of ways, tailored to your circumstances. This might include:

  • Encouraging independence with daily living tasks such as cooking, shopping, or using public transport.

  • Supporting strategies introduced by your psychologist or therapy assistant in real-life situations.

  • Offering companionship and support to increase social participation and reduce isolation.

  • Assisting with building routines, managing appointments, or accessing community activities.

  • Supporting families and carers by providing hands-on assistance where it’s most needed.

  • Any much more!

Who We Work With

We work with a wide range of people, including autistic and otherwise neurodivergent individuals who are looking for practical, affirming support, as well as people experiencing psychosocial challenges who may need extra help with daily living or community participation. Families can turn to us for additional hands-on support, which can be helpful to complement therapy, and we also assist NDIS participants who want to make the most of their plans by combining therapeutic input with day-to-day assistance.
